About the artist

I am a trauma informed clinical social worker specializing in work with people with both developmental disabilities and mental health conditions. I have been drawing and painting since I was a kid and always focused on portraiture. I lived in NYC for 10 years and went to graduate school for social work at Columbia University in New York.

Much of my interest has been in Social justice. I worked on a project using Hip Hop to connect with ethnic and cultural minorities in urban settings while in New York. I am enrolled in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher certificate program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield (2022).

I have appreciated the Hip Hop genre of music as narrative therapy indicative of the social justice movement and mobilization of the BIPOC community. naturally, my favorite subject matter is drawing hip hop icons who have spoken out against racial oppression and created socially conscious art.

Since Covid, I have had time to draw more and after the George Floyd murder, I wanted to share my art to benefit organizations doing work for good causes.
